Looking for some ways to use up the left over Turkey?
Well here are just a few suggestions of how to put it to good use.
First, the obvious one, Turkey Sandwiches, but with a twist. Take some of your left over Cranberry Sauce spread it on the top piece of bread, add your mayo on the bottom piece plus some lettuce, and you have an AWESOME sandwich.
Second, Turkey and Rice. Use the same ingredients that you would for regular Chicken and Rice but just substitute in Turkey.
I made it today for lunch, and this is what I did.
Shredded Turkey
6 Cups of Water
1 Cup of Rice
Chopped Carrots
Chopped Celery
4 Cubes of Chicken Bouillon or 4 Teaspoons of Better than Bouillon
Directions:
Bring it all to a boil, then reduce to medium/low, and cook for 30 minutes stirring occasionally. Season to taste.
Third, Turkey Tetrazzini. (I know those of you who have seen this Maury Povich episode are chuckling right now).
I have made this over the years and this is usually made with chicken.
This is what you need:
Shredded Turkey
1 Cooked Box of Spaghetti Noodles
Cream of Mushroom Soup
A Bag of Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Directions:
Mix the Turkey, Cream of Mushroom Soup, and Spaghetti Noodles together. If the soup is not spreading well add a little milk, Put it into an oven at 350 degrees and bake for 20 minutes. Add the cheese on top and cook for another 10 minutes.
Serves well with Garlic bread (put Garlic and butter on your leftover rolls then toast) and a Salad.
Fourth, Pulled Bar-B-Que Turkey Sandwiches.
Simply pull the Turkey apart in small pieces. Put some olive oil in a pan, add the turkey, and your favorite Bar-B-Que sauce. Heat it on Medium. Once it is hot, serve it on your left over toasted rolls with a side of Cole Slaw (or put the Cole Slaw on Top).
I made this for dinner tonight, and it was a hit!
