Apples and Cranberries are popular foods especially during the Fall and Holidays, and are usually on sale during this time of year. What a great opportunity to make all kinds of treats with them.
I think Apple Smiles are a great activity for building confidence, hand-eye coordination, and bonding with your child.
I actually got this idea from my son’s preschool, but I added my own little twist to it.
Here is what you need:
Sliced Apples
Dried Cranberries (raisins were used at his school)
Peanut Butter
Directions:
Spread the peanut butter on the apple slices. (I let my son put on the peanut butter with a butter knife supervised, however you could also give your child a spoon.)
Put the cranberries along the peanut butter on one slice, then put another apple slice on top.
Do you have any great Apple Snack Ideas? What ways do you use food in activities?
I would love to hear about them.
