I was provided a FREE copy of Chuck & Friends: Trucks Versus Wild DVD to facilitate this post, opinions expressed are that of my own.

Chuck and Friends DVD Trucks Versus Wild

Recently my family was introduced to a cute cartoon series called The Adventures of Chuck and Friends!

When my oldest son was a toddler we had toy truck that made noise when it banged against objects.  That toy has since been passed on to a cousin, but the memory of it is still around. That truck was called Chuck, and to my surprise it is actually depicted in a series on The Hub TV Network called The Adventures of Chuck & Friends.

Thanks to Shout! Factory Kids, I got an opportunity check this cartoon out through reviewing a NEW DVD called The Adventures of Chuck & Friends: Trucks Versus Wild.

This collection follows Chuck, a little dump truck with a big imagination, and his adventures with his family and friends Digger, Handy, Rowdy, Biggs, Boomer, and Flip. The DVD has 10 episodes including The CheckupChuck’s Perfect Plans, Trucks Vs. WildKid StuffAs The Engine CoughsBeach Blanket Uh-Oh, Fender Bender, Sleep-Driving ChuckMind Your Own Business, and The Pothole.

The series is perfect for my family because it depicts scenarios that could actually happen to my toddler and preschooler. Examples are being scared of visiting the Doctor, getting disappointed when things don’t go exactly the way you expected, or dealing with feeling under the weather. Not to mention the theme song is pretty catchy, and my older kids started singing along at the beginning of each episode.

We can all watch this DVD together as a family because the content is fun and keeps my kid’s attention.

Do your kids watch this series on TV?  Have they ever played with Chuck the Truck?

The Adventures Of Chuck And Friends: Trucks Vs. Wild also includes a brand new sing-along song and retails for $12.97.

After watching this, I now have another reason to like the Chuck and hopefully I can track him down to share with my youngest!

I was provided an advanced copy of Transformers Prime: Ultimate Bumblebee to facilitate this post. Opinions expressed are that of my own.

Transformers Prime Ultimate Bumblebee

Do you have a child that is a fan of Transformers? If so, Transformers Prime: Ultimate Bumblebee on is coming out on DVD 2/25!

Both my husband and I grew up with Transformers, so needless to say we are also fans of the series.  I had the toys, and my son even plays with ones my husband collected as a boy. My almost 8-year-old son was definitely excited to get this DVD since it features one of his top 3 favorite characters, Bumblebee. He has had an awesome full size Bumblebee toy for years. Of course Optimus Prime is a top favorite as well with Rachet coming in a close second.

Transformers Prime Ultimate Bumblebee on DVD

Transformers Prime: Ultimate Bumblebee is rated TV Y7, runs for 88 minutes, and is affordable at a price of $9.99.  It includes four episodes; Masters and StudentsOperation Bumblebee: Part 1,  Operation Bumblebee: Part 2, and Deadlock. The DVD showcases the continued struggles between the Autobots and Decepticons, and does contain robot fighting and action sequences.  In addition, it has humor in relation to the Robots trying to understand why humans do the things that they do and shows compassion between the Autobot Robots, and the people they are protecting.

I asked my son what he thought of this DVD, and he said he liked it, it was funny at times, interesting, and scary as well.  I asked him why he thought it was scary and he said in one of the episodes, “Bumblebee almost died, and during a battle Megatron actually got killed”. As always I used this as a teaching moment and we talked about how it is terrible when a life is lost whether good or bad, and unfortunate that they could not work out their differences.

Are your children fans of Transformers?  Who is their favorite character?

TRANSFORMERS PRIME airs on The HUB TV Network in the U.S. and on Teletoon in Canada. To learn more about the series visit hubnetwork.com. Look for the DVD in stores and online at Transformers Prime: Ultimate Bumblebee.

The Unstoppable, Unpoppable Bubble DVD Pack

Last week my daughter and I had a Tickety Toc Tea Party to view and celebrate the release of the newest DVD called ”The Unstoppable, Unpoppable Bubble“. My daughter loved that we did this, and I had a wonderful time spending a quality afternoon with her.

The Unstoppable, Unpoppable Bubble with Tommy and Tallulah

Tickety Toc is a show for preschoolers currently shown daily on Nick Jr during the morning hours. It showcases the everyday adventures of 6-year-old twins, Tommy and Tallulah. It also features colorful characters including Pufferty a dog train , a culinary cow called Madame Au Lait, a Bat named Battersby, plus more.

Kids Clock Craft with Tickety Toc

To get our Tickety Toc Tea Party started, I decorated the table with Tommy, Tallulah, and Pufferty toys along with bubbles from the Dollar Store. I even set up a tablecloth that looked like bubbles. We then worked on a Clock Craft so she would know when it was “Chime Time”.

I also made goodies for our party like “Clock Cucumbers”, Toasted Baguettes with Cedar’s Foods Taboule, and a plate of mini cookies for dessert. We had the DVD playing throughout the event, and once it was finished, we went outside and blew bubbles.

Thanks to MoonScoop, I was given a copy of Chloe’s Closet Super Best Friends DVD for review. Opinions expressed in this post are that of my own.

Chloe's Closet Super Best Friends DVD

Recently, I was given a copy of Chloe’s Closet Super Best Friends DVD to review with my children. Chloe’s Closet is a half-hour animated series that airs on Sprout.

I had actually never heard of this show before, so when I went to look up a video my daughter crawled up into my lap and said “I want to watch that!”. It only makes sense though, ‘Chloe,’ is a a four-year-old girl who embarks on magical adventures in her closet with her friends and toys during dress-up time.

The kids watched the DVD episodes while I was cooking dinner and cleaning, and the house was very quiet.   I watched them as well, and the episodes are cute with Chloe using her imagination to become different people. In one episode she is a super hero who fights APE hiccups, and in another she is  a Doctor who heals toys.

FYI, later it was revealed to me that my son had seen the series before, with a “Oh yeah, this is on Sprout!”.

Kids watching Chloe's closet
A very quiet house.

I asked my kids what they thought about this DVD and my son said he liked it because the characters become pirates, cowboys, and train conductors.  My daughter said she liked it because they go on adventures.  I liked it because my house was quiet, and my kids were distracted for 60 minutes.

This DVD was recently recognized as good quality programming as a recipient of a Parents’ Choice Award by the widely recognized U.S. based Parents Choice Foundation. To learn more about Chloe’s Closet series, visit their page on Facebook at facebook.com/ChloesClosetTVshow.

I was provided a Free Copy of  the “Best of Walden” DVD to facilitate this post from Grand Communications. The opinions expressed are that of my own.

Best Of Walden 3D

My kids are huge fans of  Wubbzy so I was excited to see a NEW “Best of”Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! DVD called Best of Walden.

Best of Walden has 6 episodes that include Perfecto Party, Mr. Cool, Walden On The Beach, Woozy Walden, Goo Goo Grief, and The Last Leaf.  I watched them all with my daughter and I could tell that she really liked this DVD since she proceeded to repeat lines from it throughout the day. Not to mention, she was completely mesmerized while I sat and ate breakfast with her.

Best of Walden Wubbzy

I like this DVD for a couple of reasons.  First off, it keeps my kids distracted with plenty of episodes, and awesome songs. With 2 kids over 3, it is nice to have a few minutes to myself to get some much-needed cleaning caught up, or to even read the newspaper.

I also like the content of this DVD and the lessons in the episodes.  In Mr. Cool, Walden discovers that it is best just to be yourself  instead of trying to be someone else. This lesson is then followed up with a song with words  ”Be yourself and you’ll be cool”. In Walden on the Beach, we discover that Walden can’t swim.  However through the help of his friends, he gets the courage to try. Again, this idea is then followed up with an encouraging song that says “one step at a time”. I love that these lessons are so relevant to social situations that my own children might encounter.

This DVD was released on April 9, 2013 and retails for $14.98. It runs for 70 minutes and also features coloring and activity sheets, music videos, and a bonus episode called Come Spy with MeBest of Walden is a Dove.org family approved movie. Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! currently airs daily on Nick Jr.

Want to purchase this DVD? Check retailers like Target, Walmart, or Amazon.

ClosetMaid 9 Cube Organizer Espresso

Thanks to ClosetMaid, I was given a 9 Cube Organizer plus 3 Cubeicals Fabric Drawers to review here on Frugal and Fun Mom.

The ClosetMaid 9 Cube Organizer is a shelving system that can hold crafts, toys, CDs, DVDs, office supplies, and so much more. It comes in 5 different colors including white, black, espresso, alder, and dark cherry. In addition, it can be customized by adding colored fabric drawers called Cubeicals.

The  Cubeicals provide a way to store loose items in an organized and clean way.

9 Cube Organizer from ClosetMaid Before

  Here is my room before.

I was needing a way to neatly display my kids DVD’s, coloring books, crayons, and other crafting supplies. In the before picture our stuff was intermingled together in totes, boxes, and baskets. The kids had a hard time getting to their items, and would often times forget they even had them. When I walked in the front door of my home, I would see a garbled mess.

9 Cube Organizer from ClosetMaid

Now that their items are in the 9 Cube Organizer, the kids are rediscovering the DVDs they forgot about, and are using the coloring books and play-dough that are now stored in Cubeicals.  I was also able to get rid of a few storage items and put them to better use in other areas of my home. Everything is easily accessible, and instead of seeing a big mess, I see a nice organized area.

9 Cube Organizer from ClosetMaid After

Here is my room after.

Getting my kids stuff organized was such a motivator for spring cleaning. As I moved the totes around, I dusted and vacuumed under and behind them. I also ended up flipping the room around, creating a space for our home office, a space for my crafting, plus I set up an area strictly for the kids. Having our own areas in the room makes using this part of the house much more pleasurable.

To learn more about ClosetMaid, their products visit closetmaid.com. You can also check them out on Facebook at facebook.com/ClosetMaid and Twitter at twitter.com/ClosetMaid for organizational ideas.

How do you organize your kids toys? Have you tried any of the ClosetMaid products? If so, which one?

Baby Genious DVD

Thanks to Anchor Bay Entertainment, I was given a copy of Baby Geniuses and the Mystery of the Crown Jewels DVD to review here on Frugal and Fun Mom!

Baby Geniuses and the Mystery of the Crown Jewels begins with an evil baby who steals the Crown Jewels from The Tower Of London. The Baby Squad, a top-secret organization consisting of super baby geniuses, gets involved in order to solve the mystery and get the jewels back for the Queen’s Jubilee. The Baby Geniuses, Skip, Jordan, Alfred and Gabi, end up getting more than they bargained for when they have to solve new crimes caused by the evil baby, and then chase him all over Europe.

This story is filled with gadgets, inventions, and mystery. It also has lots of diaper wearing babies, comedy, and some over the top special effects. It stars Academy Award winner Jon Voight along with  Skyler Shaye, Casey Graf, Rob Bruner, and Jamie Andrews and is directed by Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer).  The film is Rated G and it is a Dove.org Family Approved Movie.

My kids LOVED this film! It is silly, fun, and has scenes suited for their age group (4-7).  Many of the characters over-act, which also appealed to my kids.  I’m amazed that they were able to get the toddlers to sit still long enough to film the scenes. Jon Voight who is many different taxi cab characters throughout the film, plays them up with exaggerated accents, costumes, and big noses created by make-up.

I asked my kids what they liked about the movie, and they said the babies talking, the gadgets in their toys, and the scenes when the babies are helping the adults solve the crimes. My daughter who is 4, liked it so much that she was pretending to be a spy around the house. I feel that this film is appropriate for younger children, and as an adult you have to appreciate that it is intended for kids, and remember that as you are watching it.

This DVD was released February 5, 2013 and you can look for it in stores now and at Amazon Baby Geniuses And The Mystery Of The Crown Jewels. It runs for 84 minutes and retails for $19.98.
