I was provided free Jamba Smoothies Kits to facilitate this review, along with product information. Opinions expressed by me are that of my own.
Jamba smoothies

Recently, I was given an opportunity to test and try Jamba Smoothie Kits. I was sent Free product coupons to pick up the packs in my local grocer’s freezer section, and since nearly every major grocery in the country carries the Jamba “at home” line, I found them at my local Publix.

On my grocery trip, I picked up 3 of the varieties including Caribbean Passion, Strawberries Wild, and the newest addition Green Fusion.

Jamba smoothie mix

Jamba was the first to bring “at home” frozen smoothie kits to consumers four years ago and today it’s the best-selling smoothie kit on the market. Varieties include Green Fusion, Strawberries Wild, Mango-a-Go-Go, Razzmatazz, Caribbean Passion and Orange Dream Machine.

Each include real whole fruit, 100% juice, nonfat yogurt, and Vitamin C and Green Fusion gives the bonus of veggies!

Caribbean Passion is a blend of Mangos, strawberries and peaches. Strawberries Wild is a blend of Strawberries and Bananas. Green Fusion is the first veggie smoothie in ‘kit’ form. It combines green apple, mango, pineapple, kiwi, banana, broccoli, spinach and spirulina.

To make these smoothies all you do is blend in one cup of apple juice.  This makes two, eight-ounce servings. I have to admit that I don’t make smoothies at home as often as I like only because I don’t always have the ingredients readily available. I really like the convenience of the Jamba Smoothie Kits since all I have to do is add the juice and blend.  It is all together so there is no need for me to grab the yogurt, fruits, and other ingredients.

Strawberries in Jamba Smoothie

My son drank every single one of these, and I like the idea of giving him healthy ingredients for a snack or breakfast. As for the taste, by far we loved the Strawberries Wild the best.  It is really good! We also liked the Caribbean Passion. Neither one of use have had a “GREEN” smoothie before, so the Green Fusion was a new experience for both my son and I.  It had a different taste to it, but I am open to another way to get vegetables into my families diet.

Trying Jamba Smoothie

Who in your family would enjoy these?  What flavor would you like to try?

The following is a sponsored post on behalf of Driscoll’s Berries, opinions expressed are that of my own.

Berries and Honey Yogurt Parfait Recipe

September is National Breakfast Month and Driscoll’s Berries sent me coupons to pick up fruit so I could brighten up my kids meals!

When I shop for berries, Driscoll’s is a brand that I look for, and I stock up when they go buy one get one free at my local Publix, and at The Fresh Market. I used these coupons to pick up raspberries and strawberries and incorporated them into recipes that I already create in the morning, plus I also put together a new breakfast parfait.

Driscoll's Berries

To get started, one morning I complimented pancakes with the berries and made a snowman.

Berries Snowman Pancake

Another day, I made a sunflower french toast with Driscoll’s Strawberries. (Or a sun, it depends on which child you ask.)

Driscoll's Berries French Toast Sun

Finally I created a Berries and Honey Yogurt Parfait. By the way, this would be great anytime of the day.

Driscoll's Berries Recipe

To make the recipe, simply mix 6 heaping tablespoons of Greek yogurt and 3 tablespoons of honey. FYI, I cut the strawberries into thirds.

Honey and Greek Yogurt

Fill the parfait glass halfway or 2/3 up with the yogurt mixture, and then add your favorite berries. Top this with more yogurt mixture, and then finish with more berries. EASY!

All of these breakfast dishes are simple to make, they look pretty, and my kids gobbled them up! For another breakfast idea check out the Berry Breakfast Pizza Recipe from Driscolls

Muller Yogurt 001

Thanks to Müller I was given free product coupons to pick up 4 NEW varieties of the Müller Yogurt to try and review here on Frugal and Fun Mom.

Apparently the word is getting out how delicious this product is. It was a bit of a challenge to find the new product or Müller products at the grocery store that I shop at.  There was a sale and customers pretty much cleared the shelves. Once the sale was over, I went back the following week and the selection had been picked over again. I’m going to keep checking back!

muller-frutup-mango-yogurt

I was really looking forward trying the new FrütUp flavors, Mango and Orange, since the Strawberry FrütUp was a hit with my family however, I did manage to pick up the Müller Greek Corner Pineapple Passion Fruit and Müller Greek Corner Mango.

Muller Yogurt 003

Müller Yogurts are made from reduced-fat, Grade A milk and come in 3 different versions with so many varieties.

They have no preservatives, artificial sweeteners, or high fructose corn syrup. Müller has been enjoyed by Europeans for more than a century and is now nationwide in the US.

Muller Yogurt 005

I really like these new Müller Greek Corner versions because they have a mild flavor as compared to other Greek yogurts I have tried. My kids are pickier about their Greek Yogurt and won’t eat if it is too strong and my son and baby boy really likes these. They are a perfect portion for breakfast or snack, and I like the convenience of the packaging.  I have put the Muller product in my son’s lunch for school, and it has been a great addition to his meal.

To learn more about Müller and its varieties, visit the website at mullerquaker.com or check it out on Facebook at Facebook.com/mullerquaker or on Twitter at @mullerquaker.

Easy Fruity Freezer Pops

I love it when I can create a treat for my children that is delicious and requires very little effort.  Plus, I like it when I can add more fruit to my children’s diet.

I decided to try my hand at making freezer pops with smoothie ingredients and this turned out great. It is really simple to create, and is ready in a few hours.

Frozen Fruit Pops 3

Here is what you need:

Blender

8 slot Freezer Pop Mold

1 Cup Low Fat Vanilla Yogurt

2 Cups of Frozen Mixed Fruit

Frozen Fruit Pops 2

Here is how I did it:

I put 1 cup of Vanilla Yogurt into the blender and added 2 Cups of Frozen Mixed Fruit.

I lightly blended this mixture, just to barely chop up the fruit into smaller pieces.

Tip: I set the blender to “Pulse” as to not burn out my blender motor. When the blender was OFF, I also alternated using a spoon to move around the big chunks of fruit and push them down into the blades.

This may work better in a food processor, however I used what I had.

Frozen Fruit Pops 1

Then,  I scooped this with a spoon into the molds. This went into the freezer overnight. However, if you do it in the day I recommend at least 3 hours for it to set.

Frozen Fruit Pops

Tip: When you want to pull out the pops, run some lukewarm water over the mold for 10 seconds or so, then twist and pull.

This is so easy to make and it has healthy ingredients that I want my kids to have whether it is frozen or not! It is chunky and fun to eat.

Frozen Fruit Pops 4

My guys are actually having this for an after school snack today.

Do you make anything similar?  If so, what do you include in your ingredients?

If you try it out, let me know what you think!

My son and I had an opportunity to try all three versions of this yogurt and they all tasted great.  However, I have to say that we really enjoyed the Splendid Strawberry FrütUp and the Müller Corner with Choco Balls.

My son enjoying Danimals Double Crush Cup as an after school snack.
Eating healthy and getting plenty of exercise is something that is important to my entire family, so when I was given the opportunity to review Danimals yogurt products and to help spread the word about the Rally for Recess promotion, I was excited.
Mom’s Central sent me a gift card to purchase a few Danimals products for my kids to try, so I picked up a pack of the Danimals Double Crush Cup and Danimals Coolision yogurt at my local Albertson’s.
For locations that carry Danimals Products, check out the Danimals Store Locator.

My son enjoyed eating his Danimals Coolision after Soccer Practice.
Both Danimals Double Crush Cup and Danimals Coolision, are convenient to eat snacks that do not require a spoon. You can also freeze the Coolision Yogurt and eat it like a popsicle. Not only did my kids taste test the Danimals products, but so did I and they are yummy!

What I like about these products, is they are low in calories and a source of Calcium, Protein, and Vitamin D.  Plus, Danimals Coolision only has 60 Calories, so I didn’t feel too guilty about eating two of them. Danimals also come in Smoothies as well, and for more information on these products, visit there website at danimals.com/productfunzone

In addition to trying the Danimals product I also got to participate in a promotion called Rally for Recess, that could help my son’s school win a $20,000 Ultimate Playground.

Right now when you purchase specially marked Danimals products with the Rally for Recess promotion, you will find a unique code on the inside of each package that could help your school win a $20,000 Ultimate Playground with an All-Day Recess Party. All you need to do is take that code and visit rallyforrecess.com.

Once you are there, you will be given the option to either find your school or add your school to the contest.  Plus, randomly selected individuals who enter codes will win a prize through the Rally for Recess Instant Win Game.  For more information, visit rallyforrecess.com/official-rules. Promotion ends 1/31/12.

Danimals aren’t just for Big Brother!
My daughter enjoyed eating them as well.
So why not give your school a chance at winning a New Playground while enjoying the great taste of Danimals! Make sure you enter those codes!

I used my coupon for FREE yogurt and purchased the Vroom Vroom Vanilla Flavor featuring Lightening McQueen.  We all enjoyed trying this flavor and my kids used their new spoons to eat the yogurt.

My kids also got a kick out of playing with all the items in the prize pack. I think they enjoyed the “My First Scavenger Hunt” the best. When my husband came home from lunch he started a game with the kids.  He had them running all over the house searching for various items and would count down from 10 as time was running out.  I enjoyed hearing the kids laugh while they were looking for the items.
The kid’s bringing their scavenger items to Dad.
